The 2017 Annual Meeting will focus on why Anthropology Matters! With more than 750 sensational sessions, the Annual Meeting will surely provide unique opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the advancement of anthropology.

AAA is utilizing two hotels in the Adams Morgan neighborhood for the Annual Meeting.
The deadline for making room reservations at the special AAA rate is Wednesday, November 8.
Demand in Washington, DC is high during the dates of AAA 2017, and rooms might sell out before the deadline. The rooms at the group rate are limited and available on a first come, first-served basis. To ensure availability at the group rate, please make your reservations early.
>> Accept/decline notifications will be sent to all 2017 AAA CFP submitters the week of July 10 via email. An online interactive program will be available the week of August 14.
Anthropology Matters!, the theme for the 116th AAA Annual Meeting, is a call across the field to unite in our diversity, to embrace difficulty, be vibrant messmates, and promote the relevance of what anthropology is and does. Anthropology is best at describing the past, exploring the present, predicting the future, and navigating the processes of being and becoming human.
A preliminary agenda and interactive program for Anthropology Matters!, AAA's 116th Annual Meeting, will be available early August.
