The AAA Annual Meeting is a great place to explore new topics, participate in the latest discussion on current events, and get to know your colleagues. While you are here, make sure you:

Shake hands and introduce yourself to a favorite anthropologist. Ask a burning question, ask if they will be presenting in a session, or just let them know how their work has inspired you!

Sample the range of activities. There are papers and posters, workshops and roundtables, films and events, and innovents. Each is unique and offers a different experience.

Sit in on a variety of topics. Join in the discussion on a familiar theme, and dive into something completely new.

Attend a business meeting for a section that interests you. Learn about their actions and how you might get more involved.

Ask a question at the end of a session. Most presenters love the opportunity to discuss their work in more detail or consider a new perspective.

Network with colleagues and friends.Plan your collaboration for future sessions, papers, and research.The meeting draws over 6,000 anthropologists from all sub-disciplines and from all over the world.
