Call for Late-Breaking Sessions | Due Sept. 11 (3 pm ET)

The AAA/CASCA Annual Meeting Call for Papers submission portal is OPEN for Late-Breaking Sessions.

Late-breaking submissions are topical, timely, and relevant to current events and show particular relevance beyond the April 10 General Call for Papers deadline.

The topical themes for this year's Late-Breaking Sessions are:

  • Cultural heritage protection
  • Global health
  • Race and social justice
  • Migration and displacement
  • Global environmental change
  • Human rights (academic freedom, sexual harassment/assault, LGBTQ rights, etc.)
  • Other scholarship-informed late-breaking topics

Proposals must be submitted by
Wednesday, September 11 (3 pm Eastern Time).

Late-Breaking Eligibility

  • Membership:  All session participants must be AAA or CASCA members at the time of proposal submission.
    • Those wishing to satisfy membership through CASCA must contact CASCA and complete this process by Tuesday, September 3.
    • Those wishing to satisfy membership through AAA must complete this process by Wednesday, September 11 (3 pm ET).

We are thrilled to announce the theme of the joint AAA/CASCA 2019 Meeting to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada: Changing Climates: Struggle, Collaboration, and Justice / Changer d’air: Lutte, collaboration et justice. This theme was developed through a collaborative effort by the Executive Program Committee, which includes members of both CASCA and the AAA.
