Membership & Annual Meeting Registration Waivers

Effective: August 2021

The AAA + AIA have partnered to provide complimentary membership and annual meeting registration waivers to enrolled citizens of federally-recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribes.

In May 2021, the AAA Executive Board adopted a resolution to provide complimentary access to AAA resources including the AAA annual meeting to enrolled citizens of federally-recognized American Indian and Alaska Native tribes. This waiver was approved by the AAA Executive Board of Directors via a request from the Association of Indigenous Anthropologists (AIA).

 

Who is eligible?

To be eligible to qualify for the waiver, you must: 

  1. Be an enrolled citizen of a federally-recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribe.

  2. Upload document(s) that identify you as an enrolled tribal member, such as a tribal membership/citizenship card.

  3. Have your application reviewed and approved by the Association of Indigenous Anthropologists (AIA).

How to Apply?

  1. Complete the application request form.

  2. Upload document(s) that identify you as an enrolled tribal member, such as a tribal membership/citizenship card.

Application Turnaround Timeline 

While we will do our best to review your application in an expeditious manner, due to the multi-step approval process, your application can take up to 7 – 14 days to review and approve.
