Why I am AAA
Welcome to Anthropology Information Central, AAA's new research clearinghouse. If you are interested in trends in enrollments, employment, careers, and anthropology’s impacts, this is the place for you to turn.
Anthropology Information Central will grow substantially over the next few years, and we have plans to make data sets available for use in student assignments and internships. For more information on incorporating our data into your work—inside and outside the academy—please contact Daniel Ginsberg, Manager of Education, Research, and Professional Development, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many members of AAA, and of our broader community of anthropologists, are involved in teaching undergraduates. In addition, since anthropology is rare at the pre-college level, we all depend on undergraduate programs to provide large numbers of people with a basic understanding of what we do. These reports were written in response to frequently asked questions about the value of an anthropology degree.
From April 27 – May 25, 2016, members of the AAA were invited to participate in an online survey regarding their personal demographic information, career trajectories, current professional situation and association membership.
