Why I am AAA
The Task Force convenes a diverse representation of anthropologists to develop strategies for implementing the recommendations of the 2010 Committee on Race & Racism. The Task Force acts as an advisory body to the AAA Executive Board and will provide recommendations annually to the Board. The Task Force aims to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive discipline by encouraging students, faculty, and institutions to engage policies and practices that address diversity in substantive ways.
The primary objectives of the Task Force are as follows:
Formed as an ad hoc commission in 2007, the 13-member CRRA co-chaired by Janis Hutchinson and Thomas C. Patterson was charged with examining diversity and academic climate in the discipline as well as efforts within the profession to address enduring racial inequalities.
