Linguistics Resources on the Internet--SILS This site is provided by the Summer Institute of Linguistics, located at the International Linguistics Center in Dallas, Texas. The site's focus is the study of minority languages and cultures around the world. It also has information on career advancement training throughout the U.S.
Ethnologue (Languages of the World) Based on the book Ethnologue, this web site contains sections of the publication, language indices of various kinds, linguistic maps of the world, and other resources. The web site also has information on purchasing software and CD-ROM-based resources.
Explore! Linguistics Sponsored by the University of Oregon, the Explore! Linguistics page is devoted to increasing the knowledge and study of diverse languages. The web site has several games and resources appropriate for K-12 educators.
Teaching Indigenous Languages This site offers a wealth of materials relating to the anthropological, educational, and political issues involved with the teaching of indigenous languages. The best feature of the site is the on-line full-texts of recently published scholarly studies and collections devoted to the subject. It also has a section on "How to Teach Indigenous Languages."
