What are Special Events?
Special Events are essential section events, such as board meetings, business meetings, and committee meetings, for sections, interest groups, and committees of the American Anthropological Association. Special Events can also include section events that typically take place at the Annual Meeting, such as Awards or in-memoriam events.

Schedule of Section Special Events
Sections have scheduled their special events to use either their own virtual platfoms (Zoom, GoogleMeeting, etc.) or AAA’s Zoom account. Please see the schedule at the link below. Links to the live meeting environments are found within your section's communities platform, found by logging in to the Communities page using your AAA membership email and password. For security purposes, these links are not posted publicly.

Logistics
- Special Event information will be published on the AAA website, so any member, regardless of their participation in Raising Our Voices can participate. The links to the events will be housed in that section's all member community.
- Section Special Event planners are highly encouraged to review our page on Hosting Accessible Virtual Meetings to properly support an accessible virtual event via support collective access for disabled participants, participants with disabilities, and participants with access needs.
- Please disseminate the hosting accessible virtual meetings page to all possible participants prior to the event, and remind participants of the expectations during the event.
