Cathy L Costin is Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Anthropology at California State University, Northridge. She specializes in the archaeological study of craft production and the political economies of Andean South America. She is the editor of the recent volume Making Value, Making Meaning: Techné in the Precolumbian World, and author of “Gender and Status in Inca Textile and Ceramic Production” and “What is a Workshop?”
